We flew with Thomsonfly from Gatwick to Miami just over a year ago (Boeing 767). They were very good - as good, if not better, than some scheduled flights and definitely better than American Airlines. I read somewhere that they have added new planes to their fleet specifically for long haul, giving extra leg room and wider seats. It might be worth checking their website for further info.

I flew with them from Gatwick to Lima on a Fred. Olsen cruise earlier this year. I was not in the premium seatsas they were fully booked. I thought they were very good. Much better than the flight the previous year on Monarch which was a disaster.

We flew with Thomsons ex Birmingham a few years ago and paid the extra for premier seats up the fron of the plane for the extra space. However we had a different plane and normal charter configuration, so there is not the space you get on a schedule flight. We were lucky that the replacement plane had a extra 100 emtpy seats but the seats and leg room were no differenct to a thomson charter flight. I would try to book in early and ask for alise seats or emergency exits. but be early as these are almost gone first.
