I've been through the Bay 4 times on different ships at different times including October and never had a problem with rough seas, I actually decided that cruisers were having a joke about the Bay being so rough, or was I just lucky?

We've been through the Bay of Biscay in September and didn't realise we were in it till someone told us!! Luck of the draw I suppose.

my husband and I both 48 went on a fred olson cruise August 07 to the caribbean. We had a wonderful time. Like you we are young at heart and like to dance until dawn. We met some couples our age and had lots of fun in the late night disco. I admit this wasn't full of folk, however lack of bodies, has its advantages as you get to know the staff really well as they come and relax with you, as do the stars/acts staying on board for the duration. But earlier in the evening the matures could bogie with the best. We also managed to find sunbeds easily as most folk went for a sleep (we didn't have time for that) We did think some of the day/evening entertainment could have been geared towards a middle age crowd (i.e. not tea dancing etc)Having said all the above you will get looked after and fed well. We said we wouldn't go FO again as we felt our ship was geared towards more mature people (I'm trying not to upset anyone) Very mature folk complained as they felt the ship was far too big, thus culdn't manage walking (we've been on the Independance (royal Caribbean-that's big) If its your first time you'll love it anyway cos you have nothing to compair it to. Different cruise lines cater for differing tastes - my friend hates Royal Caribbean as they cater for families very well, she doesn't want kids around her, its all personal choice. Have a lovely jolly and enjoy all the new friends you'll make, cruise lot are generally great mixers.

You should have looked up the Cruise Review and keyed in Fred Olsen and Black Prince and there are a few recent ones where people do appear to have enjoyed themselves "We have had a very good cruise on the Black Prince again,this time there was no problem going past the Bay of Biscay. The weather was fine all the way to Tangiers and round to Mallorca. The food was excellent as usual,and the staff also were excellent.The Captains cocktail partys are the best we have attended and that includes Saga. The ports were fine but could have done with more time at some of them,we had free shuttle buses at a few, others you could just walk in to town in about 15 minutes. As people have said the Black Prince is an older ship but it has the best feeling of any we have been on[ about 10 other cruise ships. We will continue to cruise with her as long as she is cruising. The entertainment on her is good and the band singer Rey is second to none on the cruise ships.Also the cruise director Ashley is a very good singer as well as a good director." So don't believe all you read.
